About the Owner Maysa Fini
Maysa Fini brings a rare combination of academic credentials, professional teaching experience, and personal motherhood to her role as owner and director:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Management from Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada
- Master’s degree in Education (Curriculum Design & Implementation) from University of Ottawa
- Arizona State-certified K-8 teacher
- Prior teaching experience in Arizona’s Creighton School District
- Mother of two (her own daughter attended A Step Ahead as an infant)
Maysa took over A Step Ahead in 2009 with a clear vision: turn the preschool into a home. Her husband and co-owner Aram Fini brings nearly a decade of corporate customer care and staff training experience, ensuring the school runs with warmth, discipline, and communication excellence.

Our Programs
Infant Care (4 weeks – 12 months)
Loving, attentive care for the youngest members of our A Step Ahead family. Individual attention, safe napping, and gentle developmental engagement in a warm, secure environment.
Toddler Program (1–2 years)
Play-based learning that develops early language, motor skills, and social confidence. Introduction to routines and independence.
Preschool Program (3–5 years)
A Montessori-informed curriculum blended with traditional school-readiness activities preparing children academically, socially, and emotionally for kindergarten.
School Readiness & Transition
Because most A Step Ahead graduates enter public schools (not Montessori), our approach balances Montessori principles with traditional academic readiness so children arrive at kindergarten ahead, not behind.
